Title: Trials and findings with tagged polymers
Learner Objectives:
Share tagged polymers performance replacing phopshonate in a neutral pH system
Content/Topic Outline:
- Product Characteristics
- The benefits of using a tagged polymer replacing phosphonates
- The performance of tagged poymers on lab and field test.
Presenter:
Jannifer Sanders and/or Trace Blackmore
Presentation Description:
Over the years, various of techniques have been developed to monitor cooling towers sytems for chemical feed. In most formulations, polymer dosage exceed polymer need in the system. Tag polymers permit to measuring the active polymers in the system and enables a quicky respond to changing conditions through early detection, while monitoring chemical feed. Additionally, it allows the possibility of decreasing polymers dosage, and reducing water consumption. This paper aim is to test tagged polymers for scale control in the a system which has neutral pH and also to replace phosphonate, which reduces chemical cost and reduces environmental impact. Blackmore Enterprise and Nouryon plan on showing that polymer efficiency and chemical feed measurement is easily implemented in a cost-effective means.
