Title: What Would Fail First if We Did Not Feed Treatment Chemicals to a Steam Boiler System
Learner Objectives:
This presentation will explain boiler water chemical treatment under the premise of "What would happen if we did not do chemical water treatment to a steam boiler system?"
Content/Topic Outline:
- Treatment chemicals protect equipment
- Treatment chemicals protect fuel efficiencies
- Proper applications of treatment chemicals save facilities money
Presenter:
Chris Golden - Taylor Technologies
Presentation Description:
Sometimes it is hard to explain to facilities that spending money on water treatment chemicals is important to protecting boiler equipment and production rates in manufacturing plants. "Unbelievers" could be susceptible to other treatment technologies or simply cutting budgets for this important service. So how could you make your point that it is necessary? This presentation discusses the implications of poor, or even non-existent, chemical water treatment. "What if the chemicals were turned off? What would happen and what would fail first?" The costs associated with the implications far outweigh the cost of a properly designed program. This may also help the CFOs at your accounts appreciate you! (This may also help you explain to your spouse, family, and friends what you do for a living!) Our industry was built on this!
