Matt Copthorne, CWT
Chemtech, Inc.
Matt Copthorne, a 13-year veteran of the water treatment industry, works for Chemtech, Inc. in Canton, Ohio. He received his undergraduate education in chemistry at the University of Akron and his Certified Water Technologist designation in 1998. Matt recently served as Chair of the AWT Communications Committee and served as Chair of the Membership Committee and as a member of the Convention Committee.

Scott W. Olson, CWT
Lakeland Chemical Specialties
Scott Olson has a BBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He began his water treatment career in 1974 working part time, and began full time work in 1982. He has been President of Lakeland Chemical Specialties, Inc. since it was started in 1991. Scott has been involved with various AWT committees since 1989, particularly Certification, and is proud to be a Certified Water Technologist.

Jack R. Walker, CWT
Water Tech Specialties, Inc.
Jack has been in the water treatment business since 1972 and founded Water Tech Specialties, Inc. in 1982. As a member of the AWT since its conception, he is proud to have earned the CWT accreditation. Jack has been chairperson for the Membership, Legislative and Regulatory and Certification Committee's. Jack is currently the Secretary of AWT. He is also a member of NACE and the American Chemical Society.

Robert D. Lee, CWT
R2J Chemical Services, Inc.
Mr. Lee began his career in the water treatment field in 1982. He has been
President of R2J Chemical Services since 1992. He has a degree in business
from the University of South Florida, is a NACE Certified Corrosion
Technician and a Certified Water Technologist. He was a contributing member
of the White Rust project team and currently is the Board Liaison to the
Membership Committee. Mr. Lee serves as Treasurer of AWT.

Charles D. Hamrick, Jr, CWT
GLA Water Management Company
Chuck Hamrick has spent over 20 years in the water treatment industry. He began his water treatment career as a sales/service engineer with Viking Chemicals. While at Viking Chemicals he held a number of positions, including Sales Representative, Technical Representative, and District Manager. In 1985, Mr. Hamrick started working for GLA Water Management Company where he currently holds the position of President. While at GLA he served in positions as Sales Manager, Technical Director, Board member/ Secretary, and VP of sales. Chuck has been heavily involved in the steel, automotive, plastic injection molding, pulp & paper, and metal pretreatment industries. Specific areas of expertise include cooling, product selection/design, boiler, and wastewater. Mr. Hamrick has been active in CTI and since 1987, the Association of Water Technologies.

R. Trace Blackmore, CWT
Blackmore Enterprises, Inc.
Trace Blackmore is the owner and operator of Blackmore Enterprises, Inc. and is the chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee. Trace was the youngest person ever to obtain the CWT designation. He is a facilitator with the National Safety Consul where he teaches OSHA programs to company administrators. Trace also conducts OHSA training, site survey and program writing with Blackmore Enterprises.

Eric Fraser, CWT
Kansas Water Technologies
Eric Fraser began his career in water treatment as a chemist in Dow Chemical's Technical Service and Product Development laboratory in Freeport, Texas. Eric worked for several of the major water treatment companies including Nalco, Betz, and Dexter Water Management for 14 years in Oklahoma and Kansas. He started his own consulting and water management company in 1994. The company was named Kansas Water Technologies in 2002. The company has provided water treatment consulting and chemical treatment to a variety of industrial water users in Kansas and Oklahoma. Eric is a member of AWT (Association of Water Technologists) and NACE International (International Association of Corrosion Engineers). Eric is currently the Legislative Regulatory Committee Chairman for AWT. His committee monitors, reviews, and communicates Legislative and Regulatory issues facing the water treatment industry. Eric has a BS degree in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration degree. In 2006 Eric earned the CWT (Certified Water Technologist) designation.

Mark Juhl
Jaytech, Inc.
Mark Juhl has worked in the water treatment industry for 15 years holding various positions within Jaytech, Inc., including Service Technician, Sales Representative, Corporate Development Director, Vice President, and President. Mark graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Ia. in 1992 having earned two Bachelor of Science degrees. The following year he was technically trained in water treatment through Dearborn Chemical Company in Lake Zurich, Ill. Mark Juhl’s career experience has been as varied as the positions he has held. He believes that it has been essential to success that he learns through hands-on training how to apply products and install control equipment prior to selling them. His depth of experience in providing water management solutions locally provided him a platform from which to develop a national presence for Jaytech. Building on this experience, he began tackling business-related issues such as insurance, liability, benefits, human resources, accounting, and corporate planning.
Mark has been a member of the AWT since 1992 and in March of 2006, had the honor of serving on the AWT Communications/Marketing/Publications Committee. During this time, he has written various articles for The Analyst magazine providing first-hand accounts of his experiences with solid water treatment technology and promoting the CWT program. Mark is pleased and honored to have had the opportunity to work with past AWT presidents, board members, suppliers, consultants, and AWT members.

Marty Stephens, CWT
Chem Technologies of MS
Marty Stephens is President of ChemTechnologies, Inc. located in Brookhaven, MS. After earning a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry at Mississippi College, he began his water treatment career with Guardian IPCO in 1984. Shortly thereafter, in 1987, Marty worked for the Entec division of Betz in Pensacola, Florida as a Field Representative. During his 10 year Betz career he served in several field positions including Area Manager. In 1997, Marty founded ChemTechnologies, Inc. He has been an active member of AWT since 1998.

Mike Standish
ALCO Chemical
Mike Standish is Business Manager for Alco Chemical's water treatment business. Mike joined Alco as a student intern in 1986 and continued working until earning his B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1990. He then joined Alco as a chemist, supporting the development of water treatment products. Mike continued in various technical roles until 1999 when he joined Alco's business group in Market Development. During Mike's tenure in water treatment, he earned four patents, presented multiple papers at industry conferences, and has participated in the development of several of Alco's leading products.
