Highlights include:

  • Basic Water Treatment 101 – This session touches on common terms in water treatment, raw water testing, biological control, the basics of cooling & boiler water, as well as pretreatment equipment and boiler water treatment. This course is a must for anyone new to the field.

  • Basic Chemistry – This session will provide new water treatment personnel with an understanding of the terminology and fundamentals of chemistry required to perform in the field.

  • Boiler System Math and Problem Solving – Water treatment personnel are given calculations needed to develop and maintain a boiler water treatment program.

  • Boiler Systems and Pretreatment – Students learn the equipment that makes up typical low pressure boiler water systems and how they work, including understanding water softeners and their function.

  • Boiler Treatment – This section covers the typical problems encountered in boiler water systems and how they are treated.

  • Cooling Water Chemistry – Attendees receive a comprehensive overview of deposit and corrosion chemistry, including how chemicals are used in the treatment of deposit and corrosion related problems.

  • Cooling Water Math and Problem Solving – The calculations related to developing and maintaining cooling water programs are reviewed in this session.

  • Cooling Water Microbiology & Biofilms – This discussion covers the wide variety of problems related to the uncontrolled growth of microorganisms in cooling water systems.

  • Cooling Water Testing – Students will gain a basic understanding of the chemical tests used to monitor cooling water treatment programs here.

  • Feed and Control Equipment – This session provides a primer on the equipment and control systems for boiler and cooling water systems.

  • Pretreatment & Boiler Testing – Students will learn the basics of the chemical tests used to monitor boiler water treatment programs.

  • Regulatory & Safety Issues &nash; This overview provides water treatment representatives with a basic understanding of the important regulatory issues that they will encounter in today's market.

Information about the 2008 Seminars can be found here.

In 2008, the Seminars were held at the Alexis Park Resort in Las Vegas and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. 2009 locations are being determined.
